Teachers: Matthew Daniell (Resident) Has been practicing Buddhist meditation and yoga for over 20 years. He studied Zen in Japan and Insight Meditation in India, Burma, and Thailand. His teachers include Munindra, Dipa Ma, Larry Rosenberg, Sharon Salzberg, and Joseph Goldstein. He studied yoga in the tradition of T.K.V. Desikachar of Madras India, and is certified to teach Shivananda and Kripalu traditions. Matthew co-leads retreats with Larry Rosenberg at the Insight Meditation Society, Omega, and Kripalu. He teaches mindfulness yoga at the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center. He is a founder and the resident teacher at the Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport.
Kate Lila Wheeler (Guest)
Has been practicing yoga and meditation since her early teens. She began formal Buddhist practice in 1977. In the late 1980’s she was briefly ordained as a nun in Rangoon, Myanmar and has been teaching retreats since the early 1990’s. More recently she has assisted Sharon Salzberg at Loving-Kindness retreats at Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA. She lives in Somerville and is a writer and a teacher of writing.
Chas DiCapua (Guest)
Begun practicing in 1989 in the Zen tradition. In 1995 he started Insight Meditation practice and has worked extensively with Joseph Goldstein and other leading teachers. Since 2003 Chas has been the resident teacher at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA. He is currently training with Jack Kornfield.
